Privacy and cookies policy

Data controller

EFIDEAS is responsible for processing the personal data described in this policy, which is governed by Colombia's Law 1581 of 2012 and its implementing rules. For any privacy question, request or complaint, the contact is hola@efideas.com.

Data processed

Data the visitor provides: name, email address and a description of the challenge to solve, when sending an enquiry through the contact form. That data travels over an encrypted connection and reaches the EFIDEAS team by email, through an email delivery provider.

Usage data: if the visitor accepts optional cookies, the pages viewed, the type of device and browser, the approximate country and the referring page are measured. The IP address is anonymised and the data is analysed in aggregate.

Preferences: the chosen language and the cookie decision are stored in the browser itself and are not sent to any server.

Purposes and legal basis

Enquiries are used to answer them and, if the conversation moves forward, to prepare a proposal. The basis is the data subject's authorisation, which is understood as given when the visitor chooses to send an enquiry.

Usage data is used to understand how the site is used and to improve its content. The basis is the visitor's authorisation when accepting optional cookies, which can be revoked at any time.

Data is not used for advertising, is not sold, and no automated decisions are made from it.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files a site stores on a device to remember information between visits. The site distinguishes two categories.

Necessary: remembering the language and the cookie decision. They do not require consent and are not used for tracking.

Analytics (optional): they measure how the site is used (pages visited and actions such as sharing an article) through a third-party analytics service. They are only activated if the visitor accepts them; until then, no measurement tool is loaded and no usage data is collected.

Recipients and international transfers

Data may be processed by providers that deliver technical services to the site (operation, security and measurement), acting on EFIDEAS' instructions and obliged to protect the information. No data is shared with third parties for their own purposes or for advertising.

Some of these providers may process data outside Colombia. In that case, the safeguards that data protection law requires for international transfers and transmissions apply.

Retention

Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to answer them and to meet any legal obligations that may arise. Usage data is kept for limited periods: browsing events for 2 months and data tied to a browser for 14 months from its last activity. After that, it is deleted or anonymised.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and reasonable technical and organisational measures are applied to protect data against unauthorised access, loss or alteration.

Rights and complaints

Data subjects can know, update and correct their personal data, request its deletion, revoke the authorisation given, and access it free of charge, by writing to hola@efideas.com. Enquiries and complaints are answered within the periods set by law.

Anyone who considers their rights have not been met can lodge a complaint with the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC), the personal data protection authority in Colombia, once the process with EFIDEAS has been exhausted.

Changing or withdrawing consent

The cookie decision can be changed at any time with the "Cookies" link in the footer. Withdrawing authorisation does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing. Cookies can also be blocked or deleted from the browser settings.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated, for example when new features are added to the site. Each change is published on this page with a new update date.
